REGISTER AN NGO
WHY SHOULD ONE REGISTER AN NGO?
Any individual or group in India with philanthropic intentions, can contribute to the society without any hindrance or opposition. But when the size of the group gets bigger and the quantity of funds that they deal with is larger, the group can reinforce trust, ensure credibility and benefit by incorporating an Organisational structure.
The major benefits that an Organisation enjoys by registering as an NGO in India are:
Increased Credibility: By registering as an NGO with the Indian Government, the credibility of the organisation increases as it is recognized by the Indian Government. Thus, more and more people who believes in the cause of the NGO will volunteer and donate funds, thus increasing its human and financial resources.
Tax Savings: The Indian Government always encourages individuals and groups that work for the welfare of the organisation. Hence it incentivizes the registered NGOs by providing them with the tax benefits on their income and also allows them to provide tax benefits to their donators. This saved money on the tax can be utilized to further the cause of the organisation.
